April 22, 1791, at Williamstown, Mass.; m. Margaret Sanders at Champlain, N. Y., in 1833. She was b. Jan. 6, 1808, at Londonderry, Ireland, the dau. of James Sanders. Josiah served in the War of 1812, and in 1819 was appointed by Gov. Clinton as cornet of a troop in the 15th Regiment N.Y. Cavalry. He was a man of high standing in the community in which he lived. He d. July 20, 1873, at Champlain; she d. there Feb 3, 1885."
