"... Mary Hewes
Reason:
It is all over her sources correctly as Hewes. Please do not confuse her with Hannah (Bascom) Broughton show was widowed in Mar 1662 and William Janes Widowed in Apr 1662. They were neighbors across the street from each other, both with small children and married by Nov 1662. Mary (Hewes) Janes last child was Jonathon born 1661 and Hannah (Bascom)(Broughton) Janes first child with William was 1663. Alternate name Birth Name Mary Hewes Reason: Mary Hanna Broughton is not the correct name. William Janes two wives were first, Mary (Hewes), and second, Hanna (Maiden name Bascom) and (Married name Broughton). Mary is the mother of the Janes children ending with Jonathon and his birth in 1661. Mary (Hewes) is the one that died 4 April 1662. William then married the widow, Hannah (Bascom) Broughton in Nov 1662 and they had four children of their own beginning with Samuel Janes Sr in 1663. Last Changed: August 6, 2022 Donald Broughton

Northhampton, Massachusetts Bridge Street Cemetery
Bridge Street Cemetery was established in 1661, it is the oldest cemetery in Northampton. In 1661, a vote was passed to "alter" the burial ground on Meetinghouse Hill and to create a new burial ground. A committee in 1662 chose land east of Meetinghouse Hill. They settled on the furthest corner of the common land that had been set aside for the minister's ten acre tilling lot in 1654, and where there was already one burial a Mr. Jeane and that established the Bridge Street Cemetery.
