*     Gerrit Jans schoondochter Derkje Espeldoorn is de kleindochter van Gerritdiena Martens. Als oma Gerritdiena 2 jaar is, overlijdt haar moeder. Haar vader Gerrit Martens hertrouwt een half jaar later met met Jannigjen Hobers. In 1839 overlijdt Gerrit Martens. Vrij kort daarna dreigt Jannigjen Hobers haar huis in brand te steken. Zij wordt daarom naar het krankzinnigengesticht in Deventer gebracht. Ze brengt een groot deel van haar leven daar door.
