Notes about Gezina Broekate

Het gezin Moddejonge - Huisjes
Op 18 oktober 1841 trouwt Jan Hendrik Moddejonge, wever van beroep, met Gerritdina Alberts Huisjes.
Ze krijgen drie kinderen: Roelof (1841-1891) en de tweeling Aaltje (1843-1844) en Jan (1843-1844). Het voorjaar van 1844 is een verdrietige periode voor Jan Hendrik. Eerst overlijdt eind januari zijn vrouw Gerritdina, vervolgens in maart en april de tweeling Aaltje en Jan.

Het gezin Moddejonge - Broekate
Weduwnaar Jan Hendrik hertrouwt 3 jaar later op 22 april 1847 met Gezina Broekate. Zoontje Roelof krijgt er in de loop van de jaren 8 broertjes en zusjes bij:
Gerrit Jan (1848-1873), Fennigje (1850-1927), Jan Willem (1853-1858), Gerrit (1855-1930), Jennigje (1859- 1905), Hendrik Jan (1861-1938), Frederika (1864-1865) en nog een Frederika (1866-1947).

Relatie met de familie Hobers
Gezina's dochter Fennigje Moddejonge *1850 trouwt in 1875 met Jan Volkerink. Ze trouwt in op 't erve Volkerink in Junne. Daar woont op dat moment ook nog Hendrikjen Hobers, de stiefmoeder van haar man.
Hendrikjen Hobers overlijdt op 't Volkerink in 1884.
