"Twentsche Geert"
Het is duidelijk dat "Twentsche Geert" van Twente afkomstig is. Zijn zoon Lambert Geerts heeft ook nog als naam "van Ootmarsum" en ook "Twent" genoemd. Ook zijn kleindochter Aaltje Abrahams (dochter van zoon Abraham) heeft als naam "van Ootmarsum". Het lijkt er dus op dat de familie oorspronkelijk van Ootmarsum in Twente afkomstig is.

14-10-1692: "1692 den 14 Oktob. heeft Twentse geert een kint laeten dopen, genaamt Agnite"
Agnite laat in 1722 een "onegt" kind dopen, nadat ze daarvoor 'gestraft' is:
13-09-1722:"[1722] den 13 dito Heeft Twentsche Geerts dogter, Agnite een kint laeten dopen,
en is ten doop gepresenteert door Leuntjen, Geert Oostindiens vrouw.
(naedat der s[elve] voor de kerkenraad belijdenissche gedaan hadde over haar misdaad bestraft zijnde)
in onecht gekregen, is genaamt geworden Jacob
hoewel het al eenige tijd ongedoopt is gebleven tot wel 12 weken
omdat de kerkenraad geresolveert hadde t selve niet te dopen voor en al eer zij t selve ten doop soude gepresenteert hebben,
dat bij nader resolutie versogt is geworden"
