Geboren te Tilburg, 12 december 1914. Overleden te Esch, 15 december 1992 nog gesterkt door het Sacrament der Zieken. Op 18 december hebben wij afscheid van haar genomen in de uitvaartdienst in de Willibrorduskerk te Esch en hebben wij haar begeleid naar haar laatste rustplaats op het parochiekerkhof bij de kerk. Daar rust zij in vrede.

Het leven van Tonia werd gekenmerkt door eenvoud, rust en stilte, maar ook door ziekte en ondanks dat toch tevredenheid.

Tonia is altijd de eenvoud zelf geweest. Zij hoefde nergens voorop te staan; ze vroeg weinig voor zichzelf. Ze wilde graag anderen van dienst zijn, maar dan onopvallend. Zo was ze, in de tijd dat ze dat nog kon, graag behulpzaam aanwezig in de gezinnen van haar kinderen en handwerkte ze voor de kerk, haar kinderen en kleinkinderen

Rust en stilte kenmerkten haar. In het gesprek vond ze het niet nodig veel in te brengen; ze luisterde maar en af en toe maakte ze een opmerking waaruit bleek dat ze alles met belangstelling had gevolgd. Ze was wat stil en gesloten van aard, maar zonder dat zij het uitsprak, was ze betrokken en leefde ze mee.

Ziekte is er veel geweest in haar leven. In de loop van de jaren werd haar bewegingsvrijheid daardoor beperkt tot binnenshuis en tenslotte tot de stoel waarin ze haar vaste plaats had voor het raam. Over haar kwalen en de ongemakken die daarvan het gevolg waren, hebben wij haar nooit horen klagen en ze bleef vanaf haar plaats alles volgen wat er om haar heen in de kleinere en grotere kring gebeurde.

Zoals zij geleefd heeft, zo is zij gestorven: onopvallend en eenvoudig. Voor ons is het een geruststellende gedachte, dat zij zonder pijn vanuit dit leven is overgegaan naar het leven bij God. De diepe godsdienstigheid, die heel haar leven gekenmerkt heeft, krijgt daar een vanzelfsprekende voortzetting in de eeuwige vreugde.

Wij danken u van harte voor uw belangstelling en medeleven bij het overlijden van mijn vrouw, onze moeder, oma en overgrootmoeder.
