De langst levende krijgt in vollen eigendom de roerende goederen en het vruchtgebruik der onroerende goederen".

Met zijn vrouw woonde hij in Nuth, Stationsstraat 1 (in Huize De Tiendschuur). Als weduwnaar heeft hij in 1965 aan de Parklaan in Nuth gewoond; van 1966 tot 1968 te Hoensbroek aan de Juliana Bernhardlaan 105; van 1968 tot 1970 te Nuth, Stationsstraat 40 (Huize Maria Pia, van de zusters van de H.Vincentius à Paolo) waar hij ook gestorven is.
Hij is de schrijver in 1960 van het "Historisch Overzicht van de Watermolen de Onderste Molen te Schinveld, bij gelegenheid van het 60-jarig beheer door de fam. Diederen". Van zijn hand is ook een "Levensbeschrijving: Belevenissen, Gebeurtenissen en Reizen van J.Diederen te Nuth, samengesteld in maart 1945 in de gevangenis te Maastricht en bij zijn 75ste verjaardag op 24 oktober 1959 te Nuth". .
In deze levensbeschrijving schrijft hij als voorwoord: "Van 1945 tot 1951 vocht ik voor mijn recht in een stemming van gekrenkt rechtsgevoel. Ondanks aangedaan onrecht, heb ik moedig doorgewerkt en mijn burgerplicht vervuld. Het recht heeft in 1951 gezegevierd. Door de vrijspraak door de rechtbank te Maastricht volgden schadevergoeding volgens de Wet en rehabilitatie in de kranten".
Zoals hij zelf vermeldt in zijn levensbeschrijving was hij namelijk op 26 september 1944 (een soort van Bijltjesdag na de bevrijding van de Duitse bezetter) in Nuth gevangengenomen door de Nederlandse O.D. (Ordedienst) en op een open vrachtwagen in Nuth rondgereden. Vervolgens zat hij 5 dagen in de gevangenis in Treebeek, 20 dagen in de gevangenis te Maastricht en kreeg hij 3½ maand huisarrest. Een dergelijke behandeling kregen toen Nederlanders die ervan werden beschuldigd met de vijand te hebben geheuld.
Sjang geeft niet aan waarom ook hem een dergelijke behandeling ten deel is gevallen. Hij zou in de oorlog de hulp van de bezettende macht hebben ingeroepen om geld los te krijgen van iemand die hem geld schuldig was, maar die niet kon / wilde betalen. In zijn levensbeschrijving vermeldt Sjang in 1942 "procedure tegen wanbetaler G. Schwartz, hoofd N.S.B. Nuth". Misschien heeft hij inderdaad de Duitse bezetter bij deze procedure betrokken en heeft dit hem de Bijltjesdagbehandeling bezorgd.
Bij vonnis van 3 juli 1951 is hij dus door de rechtbank te Maastricht buiten vervolging gesteld omdat de gerezen verdenking ongegrond bleek.
Sjang doet in 1906 aangifte van het overlijden van zijn vader en geeft daarbij als zijn beroep molenaar op.
Sjang koopt in 1918 één perceel grond van zijn oom Johannes Franciscus Antonius Dohmen, broer van zijn moeder (Antoons zuster) Maria Agnes Dohmen . Hij krijgt hierover ruzie met zijn moeder, die hem er op uit had gestuurd om meer landerijen van zijn oom te kopen.
