Ella Vande Griend, 97, of Orange City died Monday, November 17, in a nursing home in Orange City.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, in the First Reformed Church. The Rev. Cecil Martens officiated. Burial was in Middleburg Cemetery.
Mrs. Vande Griend, the former Ella Mantel, was born August 31, 1889, in Orange City.
She married Andrew Vande Griend January.23, 1908, at Middleburg. The couple farmed in the Middleburg area.
He died September 26, 1956, and she moved to Orange City in 1960. She lived in the Pioneer Home for two years and entered Heritage House in 1972.
Mrs. Vande Griend was a member of First Reformed Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nellie Van Meeveren and Elizabeth Plender, both of Orange City; six grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and 11 great-greatgrandchildren.
