Donna Gaspar, 57, of Sioux Falls, died Sunday, March 8, 2015 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Donna Mae Van't Hof was born March 3, 1958 in Pipestone, MN and grew up in Leota, MN. Donna graduated from Southwest Christian High School in 1976. Following high school, she attended the Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her nursing degree in 1979. Upon graduation, she began her career in nursing , working as an RN for Sioux Valley Hospital. Her employment with Sioux Valley spanned more than 35 years. During her career, she was instrumental in establishing the infant loss and bereavement program with Sanford.

In 2008, she was a recipient of the Florence Nightingale Award for Nursing Excellence. Donna was employed with Sanford at the time of her death.

On March 15, 1986, she was united in marriage with Micha Gaspar at the Chapel of Love in Reno, NV.

Donna loved to travel, and also loved cooking and baking. She thoroughly enjoyed going for walks and had a passion for helping other people.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Micha of Sioux Falls, SD; her children, Nick (Katrina) Gaspar of Shakopee, MN andTony Gaspar of Lincoln, NE; one grandchild, Simon Anthony Gaspar; her mother, Elizabeth Van't Hof of Leota, MN; her siblings, Leon (Donna) Van't Hof, Eugene (Brenda) Van't Hof and Vonda (Rick) Danneman, all of Leota, MN along with many nieces, nephews, family and special friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Van't Hof. Funeral services will begin 12:30 pm Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue.
