Event: event Feb 1732 Amsterdam In the month of Shevat 5492 the trustees of the jewish community register the following: we consent, that it is clear and known to us, that the seat in the men's section on the fifth bench to the southern side, nr. 9, which is known to be betwee n Koifman and Hirsch Pozner, which was formerly acquired in 433 [1672/73] by Leib Renz from the parnassim, after whose death the seat was sold by decision of the rabbinical court by the guardians of the orphans of Leib Renz z.l, which were Gumpe l & Uri Renz, to khr"r Itsak Workum Kats z.l; and khr"r Itsak Workum gave this seat as a gift to his son hr"r Leib Workum Kats, according to the acts he keeps and the registration in the new protocolls, folio 451; and now that hr"r Leib Workum ha s run away and become a fugitive, and transferred all his possesions into the hands of the authorities, may their pomp heighten, of the 'desolate boedelskamer' in this city, including this seat; and the authorities gave ample empowerment and autho risation in the hands of aluf naaleh khr"r Leib ben late pum khr"r Gumprich z.l. to announce and sell this seat in the synagogue, and to transfer this seat to the folio of a buyer and to obtain from him the seat's price; and now things have bee n done according to the regulations of our community, that after three announcements in the synagogue for anybody who has demands on this seat to step forward and state his case, and if not, he will have lost his rights, and nobody came forward ; and now the seat has been sold in an open auction in the synagogue in attendance of the parnassim and gabaei-tsedaka, as well as the trustees and aluf katsin hr"r Leib ben late pum khr"r Gumprich on Sunday, the day before Rosh Chodesh Shevat 549 2; and the seat was acquired by the child Reizche bat aluf khr"r David Halberstat m.h.l. for the amount of fl. 400,-,and the trustees indeed transferred the seat to the girl's folio, and hr"r Leib ben Gumprich obtained the money for the seat; an d from now on the seat belongs fully and totally to the girl Reizche.
