Louise Catherine VonFange
Louise Catherine Zuroeveste was born Oct. 16, 1858, at Columbus, Ind. Soon after birth she was baptized in St. John's Lutheran church at White Creek, Ind. She was confirmed on March 24, 1872.
Nov. 22 [no date given], she entered the holy estate of matrimony with Karl Von Fange. This union was blessed by six children, five daughters and one son; two daughters preceded their mother into eternity.
After their marriage they lived on a farm near White Creek until 1894, when they moved to Lincoln, Kan. Soon after her arrival here she became a member of St. John's Lutheran church and remained a faithful member to the end of her earthly pilgrimage. She was a regular attendant at the church and a faithful hearer of God's word. Her great faith in God made her strong to bear her burden. In the spring of the year she became ill, but not until four weeks ago did her illness become very serious. During these four weeks she suffered greatly, but did not murmur or complain. She willingly and gladly confessed her faith in the Savior and uttered prayers again and again, that revealed her childlike faith in the Redeemer. In such faith she quietly and peacefully fell asleep in Jesus, Oct. 5, at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 19 days.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Lina Walter, Mrs. Amalia Marty, Otto VonFange, and Mrs. Laura Meyer, all living near Lincoln; also by one sister, Mrs. Caroline Suelter; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the St. John's Lutheran church with Rev. H. Kroening in charge of the services. Interment in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
