10 september 1732 :Testament - Great Parndon
Will of Edward Halfhide, Farmer of Great Parndon, Essex being of sound mind and memory praised be God for it do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following inprimis I give unto my six children ... Edward Halfhide, George Halfhide, John Halfhide, Joseph Halfhide, Hannah Halfhide and to my daughter Susanna the wife of James Carrey (?) twenty pounds apart of lawful British in money Item I give unto my five ypungest children which were born of Anne my present wife .. Mary Halfhide, Ann Halfhide, Elizabeth Halfhide, Jane Halfhide and James Halfhide twenty pounds apart of like lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to them at the age of one and twenty years provided notwithstanding if it shall so happen that my Goods, Chattels and personal Estate when they are ... shall not be sufficient to pay my debts funeral expenses and the ... eleven .. pounds above given to my children that then .. of my children shall abate and equal part ..... .... Item I give unto my wife Anne Halfhide forty pound etc. ... appoint the said Anne Halfhide my wife and my son Edward Halfhide joynt executors of this my last will and testament revoking all wills by me etc. etc.
