The son of Barney and Dena (Resort) Snetselaar, he was born May 14, 1920,in Prairie City. He attended schools in the Prairie City area and servedin the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his time in the service,he married Anna Orlich in Colfax.
He enjoyed farming and had a grain shelling business. He was the ownerand mechanic at the Shell Station in Colfax. He also worked for TheVernon Company and Maytag before retiring in 1982. He was a member ofthe Colfax First United Methodist Church, U.A.W. Local No. 997 and theAmerican Legion.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Snetselaar of Webster City;a sister, June (Jack) Nash of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother-in-law, EliOrlich of Colfax; nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, DavidPratt.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and five sisters.
