I was looking for family history and Cornelia Hogenboom (Hoogenboom) is listed as an ancestor born in 1855 and died in 1910. She married William Pettit who was born 11/29/1841 in Clyer/Chautauqua Co, NY State. Their son, George W. Pettit was born in 1877 and died in 1961. Richard was married three times. He was married to my grandmother, Geraldine Irene Wester (George-second marriage) for a short time and they had my dad, Donald Richard Pettit 08/23/1942. He later remarried and had a daughter and left his wife when the daughter was 8. He remarried again and stayed with the third wife and son, Richard, until he died in Erie PA. My father only found out he had 1/2 siblings when he was in his 40's.

married: 1st - Richard Pettit (one son, Donald) 2nd husband: Robert T. George (no children)
died: 5/18/1968 of colon cancer/buried in Portland Evergreen Cemetery in Portland/Chautauqua Co NY where most of my family on both sides are buried. Robert George is still alive and lives down the road from the cemetery. Geraldine had two sisters - Ruth (Floyd) Crandall who had three kids (David, Patricia, and Sharon) and sister Gertrude who married Francis Brumagim while about 40+ years and had no children.

children: Michelle Mae Pettit (Keith A.) Gifford (born: 1974), and Cynthia Marie Pettit (Tyler N.) Graf (1976).
