Ryan Michael Fischer, 23 of Waldron, Indiana passed away on August 25, 2008 at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
He was born on December 8, 1984 in Indianapolis, Indiana, he is the son of William and Connie (Kelley) Fischer.
He graduated in 2003 from Waldron Jr./Sr. High School. His love of cars inspired him to attend Wyotech College in Blairsville, Penn. There he received an associate degree in auto body repair. Following graduation, he became a skilled painter at Enneking Auto Body in Greensburg, Indiana.
He loved to paint, rebuild and modify vehicles. He took a special interest in his Ford King Ranch pick-up and four-wheeling with his friends and family. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. An inspiration to all who knew him, he continuously raised awareness and put forth generous efforts to combat cancers of all kinds. In sum, he loved life.
He is survived by his parents, William and Connie Fischer of Indianapolis; sister, Andrea (Andrew)(Fischer) Strehle of Indianapolis; niece, Lauren E. Strehle of Indianapolis; grandparents, Gaylord and Ruth McVey of Shelbyville and Harold and Alice Kelley of Fort Wayne and best friend and true love, Sirena L. Frazee of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Berniece Fischer.
Visitation will be from 3 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 31 at the Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 South Harrison Street. A Rosary will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 1 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4218 East Michigan Road, Shelbyville with Father Paul Landwerlin officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Ryan Fischer Fund in support of the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.
