Mrs. Bernice E. Fischer, 58, R. R. 1, Waldron, died today at 5:30 a.m. at her home. She had been seriously ill three months and in falling health one year.
Mrs. Fischer was a former employee of the KCL Corporation here. She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and of St. Anne's Altar Society, St. Joseph Church.
Born in Shelby County on June 27, 1919, Mrs. Fischer was the daughter of Frank and Crescentia (Fischer) Weintraut. On May 3, 1947, she was married to Henry Fischer, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Dennis (Alice) Brandt, Shelbyville, Mrs. Ron (Doris) Everson, R. R. 6, Warsaw, and William Fischer, Waldron, two grandchildren, and a brother and three sisters, Ira Weintraut, Waldron, Mrs. Ed (Cecelia) Belter, Greensburg, Mrs. Florence Tull, Fairland, and Mrs. Regina Beyer, Shelbyville. Seven brothers and sisters preceded in death.
Services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent Church, with the Rev. Joseph Laugel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Murphy Mortuary, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday. (Obit: Shelbyville News, Sep. 8, 1977)
