Blanche Elizabeth Roos, 87, of South Windham, beloved wife, companion and friend of Henry Roos for 50 years, passed away the morning of May 6, 2004. Blanche is survived by her husband Henry, her sister Miriam Stoveken of Bayonne, N.J., and her son Pieter and his wife Luzella of Meriden. Blanche was born in Bayonne, N.J. on March 21st, 1917. Blanche and her family have been residents of this area since 1961. Blanche was a volunteer for the League of Women Voters, the American Red Cross and the Windham Hospital Auxiliary. Blanche was a member of the First Congregational Church of Willimantic. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Saturday from 12:00 to 1:00pm with her funeral service beginning at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to the Covenant Soup Kitchen, 220 Valley St. Willimantic, Ct. 06226 or to a local charity of your preference.
