Jacobus, son of Jan, took up land on the Second flat, south side of the Mohawk River, about five miles above the village.
He settled on this land as early as 1670, in company with his kinsman Isaac De Trieux (Truax).
The patent for the same was confirmed by Gov. Andross on the 29th Oct., 1677.
