Mrs. Catherine Jones Capron, 71, widow of the late Platt E. Capron, passed away at her home here Thursday afternoon. She was found dead by her nephew Enright Roberts of Boonville who called to see her about four o'clock. Mrs. Platt Capron was born in Turin, June 20, 1862 daughter of the late Richard and Catherine Jones. She has been an active member of the Methodist Church for several years, and was a teacher of the primary Sunday school class for several years. She held the office of president of the Ladies' Aid Society for many years. She was an active member in these other organizations: Women's Home Missionary Society, Women's Foreign Missionary Society, Women's Christian Temperance Union, and the Orange.

She was united in marriage March 25, 1896 with Platt E. Capron who passed away early last August, 1931. In 1899 a son Clarence Capron was born who passed away in February, 1922. She was a woman who never boasted of her kind deeds which several have reason to know were many. Besides her sister, Mrs. William Markham of Turin and a half-sister, Mrs. Martha Wendt of Constableville and a half-brother, Adriel Jones of Turin, she is survived by a stepson, Harry Capron and two step grandchildren, Eugene and Alice Capron of this place: also several nieces and nephews. She was active to the very last and shall be greatly missed in all of her church organizations as well as by a large circle of friends. Funeral services will be held at her late home at 1:30 p. m. Monday and at the Methodist Church at 2 p. m. Burial in Turin cemetery (Rome Sentinel April 6 1934)
