Jennie died after an illness of two days, the cause being diabetes, i n the home of her parents. She was 9 years old.
Little Jennie Marie Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Smith of Win dom, MN was born July 9, 1913 at Jeffers, MN and after an illness of t wo days, the cause being diabetes, passed away in her young days, in t he home of her sorrowing parents and brothers and sisters in Windom a t the age of nine years, four months and sixteen days, departing thisl ife on Sunday, November 26, 1922. The funeral service was held the fo llowing Wednesday in the Mennonite Church at Delft, Rev. Weihe the Men nonite preacher spoke hopefully to the bereaved in German. Rev. A DeV ries of Jeffers also spoke in German, and Rev. Soughton of the Baptis t Church addressed the congregation in English. All of these minister s were friends of the family, and comfortingly reminded the bereaved f ather and mother, and the brothers and sisters that there would be a m eeting heaven some day, where all tears would be wiped form their eyes . The little darling was then buried in the Mennonite cemetery near D elft there to rest till Resurrection Morn. The departed girl leaves t o mourn her loss her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
