P. (Peter) Asbeek Brusse joined his father's trading company "P. Brusse" in 1906 and took over this company in 1907. He became a very successful business man.
Peter also did some research in the family history of the Asbeek Brusse Family. In 1888 he commissioned the heraldic artist C.W.H. Versten in the city of Leyden to design and paint "the Brusse coat of arms" based on the old Huguenot family arms of the "de Brusse" family from Paris, France.
Coat of Arms: "A shield of Silver, charged with Three Bludgeons of Red"
In 1890 Peter had 2 (two) rings made with this " de Brusse" coat of arms. One of these rings is presently owned by 'Frits Asbeek Brusse" (Driehuis), the other ring is owned by Boety Johan Gerard Asbeek Brusse in Scotland.
It is not known what, if any, the relationship is between the French "de Brusse" family and the Dutch "Brusse" family from Varsseveld.
