Hendrick Brusse from Varsseveld is the earliest known forefather of the "BRUSSE from Amsterdam" Family.
According to the "Amourial of Muschart" Hendrik Brusse used the following coat of Arms:
" Hendrick Brusse Receiver of Varsseveld, used as his coat of arms a Shield of Silver, charged with a Climbing Bear of Sable".
According to the judicial records and land titles of the Duchy of Geulders (later Gelderland) and the Manor Wisch: 1683 - Hendrik Brusse(n) is "Church Warden"(Kerk Meester) of the Reformed Church in Varseveld from 1683 till 1715.
1704 - Hendrik Brusse is appointed as "Receiver in the village of Varsseveld" a position he held until his death in 1722.
1710 - Hendrik Brusse co-signs and seals at the time of the appointment of his son Hendrik Jan Brusse as assistant Receiver.
1712 - Hendrik Brusse is registered as the owner of grass and hay land near the village of Dinxperlo. This land is known as "Meintjes slag".
