obit; Robert Ralph Jordan (Bob) passed away with his family at his side after a battle with cancer. His knowledge, humor and commitment to social fairness were a continuous source of enjoyment and inspiration to his family and friends. His interests included travel, history, physical fitness, and current events. Bob was born in San Francisco where he graduated from St. Ignatius College Preparatory, class of 1951. After serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps, he attended the University of California, USA at Berkeley, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and San Jose State University where he received a Master's Degree in Physics. He retired from Lockheed Missiles and Space where he completed a long career in the aerospace industry as an Intelligence Analyst.

Bob grew up on Russian Hill, on Hyde St. He went to St. Brigid's and Saint Ignatius. He was in the marines and the army for a few years. He then went to a community college in Marin, then transferred to Cal. It was there he met my mom, who was a nurse. He later got a masters in physics from San Jose State. He worked in the defense industry ("aerospace"), a lot of time on satellites. When I was young, this took him to Colorado for a few months and Australia for 6 months. He also traveled to the Pentagon and Germany, to brief military people, including at NATO. He apparently made some significant contributions in the satellite field. He couldn't really talk about it, given his security clearances.
