Gary Ray Aukes 1946-2024
Gary Ray Aukes, 78, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024 at his residence. Burial services were held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona on December 4.
Gary Ray Aukes was born on September 20, 1946. He dedicated two decades of his life serving his country with honor and distrinction. He attended Thompson grade and Junior high school untio 1959 and graduated from Buffalo Center in 1964. In March of 1966, he enlisted in the US Air Force, leaving for basic training in March and retiring 20 years later in March of 1986. Gary spent three tours in Vietnam: March 1967 to March 1968 at Cam Ranh Bay Air Base; March 1969 to March 1970 at Phouc Vinh Operation; and March 1971 to March 1972 at DaNang Air Base. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for the state of Arizona, retiring after 20 years.
He leaves behind his beloved, Orva Marie Lowe Aukes. Together, they shared many years filled with love, partnership and mutual support.
Gary will be rememberd for his service, commitment, and the impact he made on the loves of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of dedication to both his family and his country wll endure in the hearts of many."
