Lottie M. Steinberg, daughter of Mans and Bertha Thornsheim was born at Thompson, March 28, 1903. She attended and graduated from the Thomspon School and also from Cedar Falls College. In her early life she was confirmed in the Lutheran failth, but later became a member of the United Methodist Church in Buffalo Center.
On October 8, 1924, Lottie was married to Arthur Steinberg at Blue Earth, Minnesota. They farmed in the Buffalo Center area until 1969 when they moved to town. Lottie became ill and was a patient at various hospitals and the nursing home - but was able to return home until January of 1974 when she entered the Timely Mission Home. Here the love of her family, relatives and friends was something that made her so happy. Lottie had prayed so many times in her long illness to be taken to her eternal home and on early Tuesday morning April 22, God opened the Gate so that she could enter in and be with her loved ones who had gone on before.
Lottie was preceded in death by her husband, Art, one daughter, her mother and father, four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Maxine) Iverson of Des Moines, and Mrs. Gene (Janice) Nelson of Manson; three sons; Roger of Wichita, Kansas; Larry of Wickenburg, Arizona, and Gary of Mason City; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Henry Thornsheim, of St. Paul, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Claud (Mae) Wheeler, of Winnebago, Minn.; also nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Marilyn, two sisters and four brothers."
