Nathaniel was the son of William and Anna Stevenson Chesebrough. He was baptized 25 January 1629 in Lincolnshire and immigrated to Cape Ann, Essex, Massachusetts Bay on 12 June 1630. Nathaniel married Hannah Denison in 1659 in Stonington, Connecticut Colony. They were the parents of Anna, Sarah, Nathaniel, Bridget, Hannah, Samuel, Margaret and Mary; all were born in Stonington.
