Mrs. W. Schoorman Called by Death; Funeral Monday
Following a lingering illness of asthma, Mrs. Wilke Schoorman, passed away Friday, August 18, at eight o'clock at her farm home near Fostoria. She was 49 years, two months and 18 days of age.
Surviving her immediately are her husband, and three sons, Louie and Johnnie who live near Fostoria and Ruby who is at home.
Mrs. Schoorman had been a patient sufferer for many years, heart trouble which made her bedfast for her last few remaining days, causing her death.
Services at Reform Church
Mrs Schoorman's many friends and acquaintances attended funeral services which were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Cromwell Center Reform Church with Rev. Kampman of Meservery officiating.
John Beving, Ubbe Beving, George Beving, Harry Beving, Ben Beving and Lubert Meyer were casket bearers and interment was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Cobb Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hilke W. Freese was born in Hardin County near Ackley, Iowa, May 18, 1884. On March 8, 1906, she was united in marriage to Wilke Schoorman. Three years later they came to Clay County and settled on the farm near Fostoria which has since been the home of the family.
Mrs. Schoorman was a devoted member and an active participant in the activities of the Cromwell Center Reform Church, joining several years ago.
Besides her husband and three children she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Joe Luitzens of Renville, Minnesota; a half-brother and half-sister of Ackley, other relatives and many friends. Her parents preceding her in death several years ago.
