Mrs. Louisa B. Mengel, 82, Bird Hill, Westminster R. D. 6, widow of George C. Mengel, died Friday, February 12, 1954, at her home. She was a daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth Baker Bitzel. Surviving are two children, Mrs. States Gist, Westminster, and Edgar Mengel, Smallwood; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Blauvelt, Baltimore; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Bankard funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with further rites in Trinity Lutheran Church, Deer Park Road at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harold Redcay, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
