She is born in December 1887 as Fokje Douma in the country village Minnertsga in the former municipality Barradeel, in the northwestern part of the Dutch northern province Friesland, daughter of laborer Hein Douma (29 y) and Lijsbert Vis.
On 6 May 1903 she emigrated with her parents and her brothers Marten (1881), Ruurd (1890) and Dirk (1892) from Minnertsga to the USA.
Fannie Douma married on 5 April 1911 in Chicago at the age of 23 years to the one year older David K. Leep, who was also born in the Frisian municipality Het Bildt. On 16 March 1912 their son Nicholas D Leep was born in Chicago.
Her husband David Leep died in June 1968 at the age of 81 years in Martin Township, Allegan County, Michigan and was also buried there, but the name of the cemetery is unknown. Fannie died in 1977 at the age of 89 years in the city of Allegan, but resided then in Martin, also in Allegan County.

Mrs. Fannie Leep - Rte 1, Shelbyville, passed away April 7, 1977, in Allegan. Mrs. Leep was born Dec. 12, 1887, in the Netherlands. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Leep in 1968. Mrs. Leep was a member of the East Martin Christian Reformed Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Elizabeth) Zandstra of Highland, Ind.; 4 sons, Nicholas Leep of Highland, Ind., Henry Leep of Shelbyville, Anton Leep and Martin Leep, both of Martin; one brother, Richard Douma of Salem, Ill.; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Marshall-Gren Chapel, Plainwell, until Saturday morning. Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the East Martin Christian Reformed Church, Rev. Gilmer Compaan officiating. Interment in East Martin Cemetery. Those who desire, may make contributions to the East Martin Christian Reformed School. source: Kalamazoo Gazette Fri 8 April 1977.
