Enno was born in Freeport, Il to the family of Henry and Annie Modder Stubbe and then they moved to South Dakota for a short period of time. The came to the family farm southwest of George"

"in 1911. He worked for area farmers until 1931 when he married Ella, daughter of Hiram and Hattie Heidebrink Jansen. ... They lived near Magnolia, Minnesota until 1941 when they purchased a quarter section from Enno's brother, John. It was just north of the Hope Reformed Church. Later Harlyn farmed it and today Harly's son, Douglas is on this farm.
One of Enno's favorite stories was when his name made the local papers when he turned 19 on Nov. 19, 1919.
Enno and Ella were faithful members of the Hope Reformed Church ...
