"Lois E. Haase Sept. 27, 1921 - March 14, 2004
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Lois E. Haase, 82, of Oberlin, died Sunday (March 14, 2004) in at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
She was born Sept 27, 1921, to Homer and Vida (Parks) Nicodemus in Decatur County, Kan. She was raised on a farm and attended Villonia School. She graduated from Decatur County High School in 1940.
In 1941, she married Gilford Fisher.
On Dec. 22, 1984, she married Vernon Haase in Colorado Springs, Colo. She has lived in Holdrege, Rome, Ga., Chatonuse, Tenn., Salina, Kan., Oberlin, Hays, Kan., Norton, Kan., and Colorado Springs, Colo. In 1999, she moved back to Oberlin. She was employed as an AT&T Longlines Operator.
She was a member of the Presbeterian Church in Ooltewah, Tenn., the United Church of Oberlin, Royal Neighbors, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion, and the VFW Auxiliaries.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gerald Fisher in 1974; infant daughter, Sally Ann Fisher; brothers, Neil, Verl and Keith; and one grandson, Rick Nottingham.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Haase of Oberlin; three sons, Rod and wife, Jan Fisher of Owasso, Okla., Rollie and wife, Susan Fisher of Gladstone, Mo., and Roger and Cindy Fisher of Jamestown, N.D.; two daughters, Myrna Wilson of Oberlin and Sandy and husband, Charles Moore of Topeka, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday, 11 a.m., at the United Church of Oberlin in Oberlin with the Revs. Nolan and Barbara Pierce officiating. Interment will be in Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., at the funeral home and Saturday after 9 a.m., until service time at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Lois Haase Memorial Fund.
Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of the arrangements."
