She was baptized by Pastor Peter Peters, upon her confession of Christ as her own personal Savior, and was united to the First Baptist Church of Buffalo Center on September 25, 1938. Thressa was faithful and active in her spiritual life and witness and in the activities of her church especially in the women's work and in the teaching ministry of the Bible School.

During the time of her illness she continued to be a faithful witness of her faith in Christ and of her submission to His will in her life.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Vern and their three children and the two grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Minnie Winter of Buffalo Center; two brothers: Harold and Rudolph both of Portland, Oregon; a sister, Mrs. EdithBendix of Kasson, Minnesota; several uncles and aunts and many other relatives."
