"Wilhelm Fisher Birth 14 May 1844 Germany Death 23 May 1922 (aged 78) Buffalo Center, Winnebago County, Iowa, USA Burial Idaho Cemetery Hubbard, Hardin County, Iowa, USA Memorial ID 216060884
Wilhelm Fisher, for years a well-known and familiar figure in Buffalo Center answered the final roll call on May 23, 1922, athe the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Brass, with whom he had been making his home. Heart trouble is though to have been the immediate cause of his death. Mr. Fisher had lived to be nearly four score years in age and all who knew him are confident that he welcomed the last summons with a smile, secure in the knowledge that he had lived his life to the fullest and the best of his ability.
Wilhelm Fisher was born in Ostfriesland, Germany. May 14, 1844. In 1868, he was united in marriage to Antje Antina VanHorn. To this union nine children were born. The same year they came to America and settled on a farm near Pekin, Ill., from there they moved to Steamboat Rock, and in 1900, they moved to a farm near Buffalo Center.
Mr. Fisher is survived by 8 children, 4 girls and 4 boys, 30 grand children and eleven great grand children. His wife and an infant son preceded him in death. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Baptist church of which he was faithful member, in charge of Rev. Mindrup, after which the body was buried at the Grant Center cemetery near Iowa Falls.
