Dick Steen was born in Germany on January 28, 1863; he came to America and worked at Wellsburg, Iowa. Henrietta Kaiser was born in Germany on January 7, 1875 and came with her parents to America. Dick and Henrietta were married at Wellsburg on March 1, 1895. They moved to Buffalo Center in 1903 and farmed southeast of town. Their children were: Minnie, Maggie, Jennie, George, Fannie, Ida, John, Dickie, Louie, and William. Dick died on October 24, 1942 and Henrietta on August 19, 1975. ..."

"... George Steen was born near Wellsburg on June 22, 1901. He married Minnie Beekman on February 27, 1929; they farmed south of Buffalo Center. One son, Gerald, was born on December 19, 1934 and lives at Jesup, Iowa; Gerald married BarbaraPopkes on July 26, 1959 and they have a son, Dietrich, who works in California. Minnie died on October 14, 1957. In 1958 George married Adeline Buseman. Adeline died on February 9, 1979 and George died on November 27, 1986. ..."

Funeral services for Mrs. George (Adeline) Steen were held Monday, February 12, 1979 at 11:00 a.m. from the First Baptist Church in Buffalo Center with Pastor Ralph Chandler, Sumner, Iowa, officiating.
Mrs. Robert Bronleewe was organist and singers were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller. Pallbearers were John Alberts, Bert Meyer, Jim Murra, Reinert Levik, Robert Bronleewe, and Dr. Leonard Knudtson. Winter Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements and interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
Adeline Ruth Steen was born July 23, 1914 to Claus C. and Anna Buseman at Canistota, South Dakota. In 1942 she moved with her parents to Buffalo Center, Iowa.
She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 13. She was baptized by the Rev. J. G. Rott and joined the Spring Valley Baptist Church, August 4, 1928. After moving to Buffalo Center she transferred her membershipto the First Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member and, attendant as long as health permitted. She was also a member of the Ladies' Mission Band.
On December 9, 1958, Adeline and George Steen were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Blue Earth, Minnesota. They lived on the farm south of Buffalo Center until 1969 when they moved into their home in Buffalo Center. Sheenjoyed gardening, flowers and music.
Her health began to fail four years ago, and she departed from this life on Friday, February 9, 1979 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
She is survived by her husband George, one step-son, Gerald Steen and his wife Barbara, of Jesup, Iowa, and one step-grandson, Rick; one sister, Mrs. Aeilt (Clara) Brass of Buffalo Center, and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Parents."
