Funeral services for Hazel E. Bappe, 87, of Buffalo Center, formerly of Sioux City, are being held Thursday, August 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Rock Branch Methodist Church at Corrcctionville with Rev. Walter Bernard officiating. Interment is in Fairfield Cemetery. Mrs. Bappe died Sunday, .August .15, ,1993 at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.
Roger Hladipk is. the soloist. Casketbearers are Randall Winter, Bart Winter, Kirk Winter, Ron Bohle, Duane Carrington and Dale Hayworlh.
Hazel Ethel Bappe was born August 16, 1905 to Job and Elizabeth (Oliver) Moyse at Lawton, Iowa. She attended Wobdbury County Country school and also the Lawton High School for two years.
Hazel was united in marriage to Charles W. Bappe December 30, 1925 at Sioux City. They farmed in the Lawton area until 1935 then purchased and moved to the farm near Rock Branch. Charles received serious injury from a fall in December of 1959, forcing them to move, to Sioux City close to the rehabilitation center.
Hazel loved her home and family. She was always baking and preserving her home raised fruits and vegetables. After 1960 she faithfully and lovingly cared for her husband until his death March 15, 1982.
Hazel lived in Sioux City until August 1983 when she suffered a stroke. After"

"hospitalizalion she entered the Tltonka Care Center, Titonka. In May of 1984 she transferred to Timely Mission Nursing Home where she resided until her death.
She is survived by one son, Donald Bappe and wife, Marcella of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter, Evelyn Winter and husband, George of Buffalo Center; along with five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, also by one sister, Bertha Powell of Marcus; and two sisters-in-law, Grace Bappe of Moville and Ruth Nehk of Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles; three brothers, George, Fred and Lester; three sisters. Susie, Helen and Alica [?] and one grandson, Donald Craig Bappe."
