William Schutter, the son of Mr and Mrs Harm Schutter, was born at Hamswehrum, Ostfriesland, Germany on August 2, 1900.
Soon after birth he was baptized in the Name of the Triune God.
In 1909, when William was nine years of age, the Schutter family immigrated into the United States of America and made their home in the vicinity of Titonka.
After due instruction in the Christian faith he was confirmed at Good Hope Lutheran Church by Pastor Mueller in the year 1914
On April 14, 1925 he was united in marriage with Anna Franzen at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They established themselves on the farm south of the church.
This union was blessed with three sons and five daughters. Three children, Marvin, Lena and William preceded him in death. Also his wife on November 5, 1946, and a brother, John.
Since his marriage he has been an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served as deacon for six years and was always ready to give his fullest support to the church and its mission in the world.
Will Schutter was a faithful father and after the children lost their mother, he met his responsibilities with teh admiration of all.
From personal experience I can say that Will Schutter was a kind and helpful neighbor and at every opportunity gave cheerful assistance and a spiritual lift.
After his children had established their own homes, he entered a blessed marriage with Lena Spear on September 21, 1960, and made his home in Titonka.
Mr. Schutter was blest with good health throughout his life, but early Monday, September 4 he had a heart attack at 4 o'clock and passed into eternity at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 2 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Lena; one son, Franklin; four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Agnes) Christ of Lakota, Mrs Ubbe (Theresa) Ubben of Titonka, Mrs Eugene (Katherin) Christ of Lakota, and Mrs Herman (Wilda) Ubben of Titonka; astep-dauaghter Mrs. Jessie of Long Beach Cal.; 11 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends." <>
