John Edwin Beving, the son of John and Harmke (Meyer) Beving was born on November 26, 1918, on the family farm near Fostoria. Most of his life was spent in that area, and his early education was in rural elementary schools of Clay Co., Ia. He attended high school in Pleasant Prairie Academy in German Valley, Ill., graduating with the class of 1939.
He was lifelong member of the First Reformed Church near Fostoria.
In October 1976, he moves to the St Lukes Lutheran Home in Spencer. During his time there, he completed a translation from German to English a book of 100 religious poems written and published in the 1800s by his great grandfather, Geert Heikens. Mr Beving was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters
He is survived by one brother, Merlin Beving and his wife Phillis, of Everly; and one sister, Annetta Laubach and her husband Harold of Hartley.
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church, Rural Everly. Burial wil be at the First Reformed Cemetery, Rural Everly. Warner Funeral home of Spencer in charge of the arrangements
Casket bearers were Gary Klett, Harlan Laubach, Arthur Laubach, Lyle Laubach, Brad Beving and Jeffery Clausen
