Funeral services for Calvin (Kelly) C. Rippentrop, 81, of Buffalo Center were held Tuesday afternoon, February 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Steven Oeffling officiating. Winter FuneralService was in charge of arrangements and Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery. He died Saturday, February 12, at the United Hospital, Blue Earth, Minnesota.
Casketbearers 'were Herbert Jensen, Edwin Albers, Amos Wempen, Henry Van Gerpen, Vern Husome and Fred Frerichs. Kathi Nelson was the organist and music was by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Aukes.
Calvin (Kelly) Rippentrop was born March 10, 1910 at Lakota to Cal and Alice (Pannkuk) Rippentrop.
He was married to Frieda Heyer on December 17, 1924 in Buffalo Center by Rev. Alec Russell, minister of the Congregational Church. He and Frieda joined the Congregational Church by confession of faith April 30,1930.
Upon this marriage they moved to a farm northwest of Buffalo Center where they lived until January. 1946 when ill health forced them to move into a home in Buffalo Center. In February 1980 they moved to the Bison Apartments.
Kelly was employed as a, carpenter for 20 years. He was also janitor of the church for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda; one son, Calvin Rippentrop of Buffalo Center; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Ramona) Erdahl of Lake Mills; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother, Otto of Iowa Falls; three sisters, Mrs.Jennie Gilbert of Mason City, Mrs. Henry (Alice) Hofbauer of Buffalo Center and Mrs. Harold (Gertrude) Knabel of DeSoto, Wisconsin and a'host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister." <>
