RITES HELD FOR HARM GROEN, SR
Funeral services for Harm Groen, who died Wednesday of last week at his home south of Swea City, were held Saturday afternoon at the Bancroft Baptist church and he was buried in the Greenwood cemetery. the Rev. C. E. Bryden of theBancroft church was in charge of the service. Born in Germany 62 years ago, Mr. Groen came to this country when he was 20 years old. He lived at Parkersburg for six years and the remainder of the time in northwest Kossuth county. Hewas married at Parkersburg September 29, 1895 to Miss Ruth VanHorn, a native of Holland. Surviving besides his widow are tre [sic] following children: Henry, William, Benjamin, Etta and Emma at home; Mrs. Henry S. Stroebel and Harm jr.,of Burt, and Mrs. Fred Welp of Titonka. Three other children are dead. - Herald. ..."
