"GRAY, HENRY 1885-1964 GRAY, GRACE HUISMAN 1888-1969
HENRY GRAY was born on September 27, 1885. He was the oldest of seven children born at Bellingerwolde, Holland to Henry and his wife, Dora (Schipper) Gray. Henry came to America in 1902 with his parents and family. They settled inKamrar, Iowa.
GRACE (HUISMAN) GRAY was born to Folkert and his wife Gretje (Naber) Huisman at Ackley in Grundy county, Iowa where they farmed. In 1893 they moved to a farm in Hamilton County, near Kamrar, Iowa. They had a family of ten children.
Henry Gray and Grace Huisman were united in marriage on December 30, 1908 at the Presbyterian Church at Kamrar, Iowa. they lived in Blairsburg Iowa. Henry worked on the railroad and later they started farming. In the spring of 1914,they moved to Kossuth County, traveling by train to Burt, Iowa. From there to Titonka they moved with teams of horses to a farm southwest of Titonka, known as the Doege farm. From there they moved to a farm west of Titonka. Then theymoved to the Boyd Pannkuk farm north of Titonka and lived there twelve years. They bought a farm in Ramsey Township and lived there until they retired in 1949. They built a new home a mile from their home place in the country. theylived there the rest of their lives.
They were blessed with ten children: HENRY, JR, (Hank) of Titonka, passed away August 23, 1985; FOLKERT, died in infancy; FRED of Titonka; ELMER of Buffalo Center, passed away October 9, 1991; ARNOLD died in infancy; LEONARD of Titonka;DOROTHY, ten years, passed away November 8, 1930; MERVIN of Titonka; VIOLA of Titonka; IRENE (Mrs. John Ubben) of Buffalo Center.
Henry and Grace observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary December 30, 1963. They have twenty-two grandchildren. Henry and Grace became members of Ramsey Reformed Church in 1948.
Henry passed away February 10, 1964 at the age of seventy-eight years. Grace passed away November 19, 1969 at the age of eighty-one years. Both are buried in Buffalo Township Cemetery south of Titonka, Iowa."
