"THEODORE, JR. AND ELIZABETH (ROTH) ALBERS
Elizabeth Roth, daughter of Anna and Frank Roth, and Theodore Albers, Jr., son of Theodore and Geska Albers, were married on June 4, 1925. They moved a house from a farm near Buffalo Center to 213 South Main Street where it still standsand remains in Elizabeth's possession.
They became parents of eight children: Edwin of Buffalo Center; Dorothy of Punta Gorda, Florida; Merrill of Buffalo Center; Arlene of Ankeny, Iowa; Gerald of Janesville, Wisconsin; Gladys of Clear Lake, Iowa; Donald of Broomfield,Colorado; and Dennis of Albia, Iowa. All of them graduated from Buffalo Center high school.

"Merrill E. Albers, 69
Funeral services for Merrill E. Albers, 69, were held Saturday, December 12, 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor James Cherry officiating. Graveside military rites were conducted by Buffalo Center VFW-American Legion Color Guard. Private family interment was held at Graceland Cemetery with Winter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Organist for the service was Nancy Jensvold and the congregation participated in the singing of hymns. Casketbearers were Kyle Winter, Brad Wempen, Murray Berggren, Jake Winter, John Teig, and Keith Hagenson.
Merrill E. Albers, son of Theodore, Jr. and Elizabeth (Roth) Albers, was born March 3, 1929 at Buffalo Center. He grew up in Buffalo Center and graduated from Buffalo Center High School.
On February 14, 1954, Merrill was united in marriage to Faye Amundson at Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Joice. This union was blessed with two daughters: Lorie and LeAnn.
In 1966, Merrill and Faye purchased the Flower Shop and Greenhouse where Faye had been

employed for four years. They owned and operated the Greenhouse until 1978. then Merrill was employed as the custodian for Timely Mission Nursing Home and he also worked as an independent painter. Merrill also enjoyed sports, he wasthe grandchildren's biggest fan and a true Hawkeye.
Merrill was a resident of the Titonka Care Center from July 27, 1998 until the time of his death on Thursday, December 10, 1998.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Lorie Bierle and her husband, Michael, of Buffalo Center; LeAnn Wempen and her husband, Rod, of LuVerne; four grand children: Kyle and Rebecca Winter and Bradley and Ryan Wempen; specialfriend, Ruth Matheson of Rake; four brothers: Edwin of Marshalltown; Gerald and his wife, Sally, of Janesville, Wisconsin; Donald and his wife, Marilyn, of Broomfield, Colorado; Dennis and his wife, JoAnna, of Albia; two sisters: ArleneField and her husband, Roger, of Ankeny; and Gladys Sheldon of Clear Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Faye on May 13, 1992; one sister, Dorothy, and a granddaughter, Alicca Wempen."
