Funeral services for Lola G. Smith, 87, were held Wednesday, May 11, 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Jim Cherry and Rev. Ron Stein officiating, interment was at Graceland Cemetery with Winter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Cheryl Baumann was the organist and Charlotte Burnett was the vocalist. Casketbearers were Tom Smith, Dan Smith, Daryl Leibrand, Scott Leibrand, Tim Leibrand, and August Baumann.
Lola Smith, daughter of LeRoy and Gertrude (Milbrandt) Leibrand, was bom July 31, 1911 in a farm house northwest of Buffalo Center. She graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1929.
She married Theodore G. Smith in 1930. They were blessed with one son, Marvin.

"owned and operated Lola's Beauty Salon in Buffalo Center. She later operated Lola's Card and Gift Shop until her health forced her to enter Timely Mission Mursing Home in November of 1996.
Lola was a very devoted mother. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and loved to go to coffee with her friends and fellow merchants.
Lola passed away on Sunday, May 9, 1999, at the nursing home in Buffalo Center.
Left to cherish her memory is one son, Marv and his wife, Geri Smith of Mason City; three grandchildren: Tom and his wife, Jerolyn Smith of Chelsea; Deb Smith of Mason City; Dr. Dan Smith of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one brother, ElmerLeibrand of Buffalo Center; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, in 1939, her parents, and one brother, Melvin."
