Albert A. Tencate, 91, who was employed for 74 years by the Phoenix Iron Company, died suddenly at his home, 429 Vanderslice street, this morning at 5:00. Death was due to a heart condition. He held the longest record of employment in the history of the iron company. During the civil war he was one of the workmen who helped make famous Griffen cannons. He was one of Phoenixville’s best known men and was one of the oldest residents of the borough. He was a member of the Phoenix Lodge I.O.O.F., Past Noble Grand and Fifty Years Jewel. He was a member of St. Johns Reformed Church.
