Edits to be added later. Lynn C. Meibos (child #1).y she called Joan & Richard’s History in response to an email she received on 25 May 2009 requesting a story of tough times when you’re young and just starting out. nt to school w/his sister & we went to an M-Men & Gleaner party, and the rest is history. We both grew up in So. Cal. (he was born in San Diego - I in SLC), but we lived in Long Beach in 1940's-48. My parents drove us to SLC in Sep ‘48 and we were married in the Salt Lake Temple - on the 14th instead of the 16th (which was on the announcements, because it didn’t take as long as we thought to get our blood tests, etc). My sister had a dinner for our family - no reception - and we ‘honeymooned’ at the Hotel Temple Square. had an apt. rented in Provo, but it wasn’t ready for us, so we spent a couple of days with our friends Joe & Loneta Murphy (also from L.B.) in Wymount Village. Then we went to the apt on 3rd East & 6th No., sharing the little house with 6 girls in the back apt. We had money from the GI Bill for support ($105/mo), but I got a job in the Farmers and Merchants bank on 3rd West & Center to help out (abt. $115/mo.) Our rent was $60/mo. bicycle and bus.) ed church in the Wymount Chapel and did our shopping at Carson’s market on 9th east. (Our Bishop was Art Morin - his daughter later married the son of Maru Simmons, our next door neighbor.) was the beginning of our 58 years together. We lived on Grandview hill (1167 Columbia Lane, Provo) until our 5th child was born, and eventually were able to buy a little house in Edgemont (656 E. 2950 N.) where we raised our 4 boys and 4 girls on a half-acre with 14 apricot trees. said I couldn’t live there anymore and watch the construction so we looked for another house and found one 3 blocks to the west (3080 N. 175 East) where we lived happily until we sold to our #4 son (Jerry) and moved to Three Fountains.”AFN:7P66-HP
