   LifeSketch: Robert was born about 1686 at the farm of Brawlinmuir in the parish of Glenbervie, where his father James was the tenant. The exact date of his birth and baptism are unknown since the surviving parish register for Glenbervie doesn't start until 1720's. Robert married Isabella Keith and became tenant of the farm of Upper Kinmonth in Glenbervie, where their first four children were born, although no record exists of their birth or baptism. About 1724 Robert became tenant of the farm of Clochnahill in the parish of Dunnottar. His last five children were born there and their baptisms recorded in the Dunnottar parish register. About 1745 Robert became tenant of the farm of Falside in the parish of Kinneff, but in 1747 financial difficulties forced him to give up farming. He retired to live with his daughter Elspet and husband John Caird at the farm of Denside in the parish of Dunnottar, where John Caird was tenant. Robert probably died there, although there is no record of his death and no surviving gravestone.
