Roderick Angus Macdonald
Death: Mar 11 2012
Published: Mar 17 2012 - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Published by: The Vancouver Sun
Obituary: MACDONALD, Roderick Angus Dr. Roderick Angus was born December 10, 1930 in St. Louis, Saskatchewan and passed away on March 11, 2012 after a one year battle with melanoma. Predeceased by his loving wife Jane of 51 years in August 2010, he is survived and deeply missed by 3 daughters, Leslie (Russ), Karen (Alex) and Diane, 2 grandchildren Jed and Megan whom he deeply adored, 2 brothers, Cec (Babe) and Keith (Sheila) and numerous extended family and friends in Canada, United States and Russia. Their first daughter was born in Kansas City but Rod and Jane returned to Canada where he set up his dental practice in Haney (Maple Ridge), BC and saw the birth of their second and third daughters. Rod loved his work, his patients, and his staff - many of whom became lifelong friends. Throughout his career he was a supportive and involved father, coaching his daughters' ball teams and attending their many activities, including several years devoted to the equestrian circuit with his daughter Karen. He also enjoyed biking, golfing, duck carving, woodworking, bird-watching, working on his property, reading and travelling. He retired in 1999 and continued to enjoy these activities; spending as much time as he could with his family and his grandchildren. Doc's overwhelming kindness, warmth, generosity, and gentle smile will always be remembered. Without Doc, our hearts are b...
Source: View the full obituary on the Drouin Genealogical Institute’s Website
