LifeSketch: Funeral services for John W. "Billy" Cates, 81, of Alto will be Sunday October 13th, at 3:00P.M. at the O.T. Allen and Son funeral home chapel with Bro. Gary Pridmore and Chaplain Roy Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Lynches Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Cates died Thursday in Alto. He was born December 29, 1931 to John Earle and Mary Vera Dominy Cates in Alto, TX. He was a lifetime resident of Alto and a member of the First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a Sergent after serving in Korea. He worked as a dairyman, a mechanic and for the Texas Dept. of Corrections as a guard where he retired. He was a member of the Alto Masonic Lodge, Terrell Lodge #83. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Francis and J.D. Sisters Lee Iris and Mary.
