LifeSketch: OBITUARY. MR. W. T. KENDERDINE. LONG LEGAL CAREER. The death occurred at his home at 16 Dilworth Avenue, Remuera, yesterday, of Mr. William Thomas Kenderdine, aged 71 years. Mr. Kenderdine belonged to a family connected with the Auckland Province from the earliest days, his mother being born at Puriri, Thames, in 1836. His father, Dr. T. B. Kenderdine, started practice at Whangarei in 1854 and settled in the city in 1860, practising until his death in 1894. Mr. Kenderdine was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, of which he was one of the earliest pupils. In 1880 he entered the legal office of Whitaker, Russell and Buddle as clerk, now Buddle, Richmond and Buddle, serving the firm continuously for 52 years until his retirement two years ago. He was well known and highly esteemed in the legal profession, where his knowledge of conveyancing and of the plans of Auckland was considered remarkable. Mr. Kenderdine was a keen player in club and provincial cricket in the eighties and nineties, and more recently a member of the Remuera Bowling Club. Mr. Kenderdine is survived by Mrs. Kenderdine and two daughters, Mrs. H. G. Bell and Mrs. Eric Tonks, both of Remuera. New Zealand Herald, 16 April 1934, Page 12.
