LifeSketch: Source: Anita McLeods's Book - All of Williams sons with the exception of Angus, who had drowned, went to World War 1. One was killed and five returned home. William was a stauch Presbyterian, was responsible for the revival of the Pipe band, was an excellent bag-piper. He lived at the top of Cliford Road in Eltham, worked at the Egmont Box company and worked a farmlet at Chiselhurst road. He always walked to and from work, a good mile, even when an old man. was a machinest and farm servant.
