He leaped to the ground and back to the saddle in armour, to refute an allegation that his immobility when Lord Welles struck him was artificial, and he closed the dagger contest after Lord Welles was unhorsed, by lifting his opponent on the point of the dagger, and hurling him to the ground, after which he raised him, and leading him gently by the hand presented him to the Queen..
